UK's Most Wanted Local Salon 2007
Arcana @ Shenley Brook End reached the grand final and was placed as runner up in the National Industry competition which celebrated the amount of work our salon did for the local community last year.
Our evidence included school career days, after school clubs, work experience placements, fetes, wedding fairs, Academy support to local schools and charity fundraisers.

Professional Beauty Awards 2007
Our first year of entering, we were delighted to make it through to the grand finals of this years awards in TWO categories; Employer of the Year & Beauty Salon of the Year (3 rooms or less), we came runner up to the phenominal Ragdale Hall Health Spa in the employer category which was a tremendous feeling! Roll on next year for another entry for the team!

L'Oreal Colour Trophy 2008
Two teams got through to the regional final (Michelle from Arcana & Andrea representing Arcana Spa) in this fiercely contested industry award. The artistic teams went to Cambridge for the semi finals where 25 teams had made it through from thousands of entries; we were delighted to have secured TWO places! Unfortunately our first attempt wasnt polished enough to make it to the finals- but we're raring to go again next year much more prepared!!

Learning & Skills Council Training Employer (small business) 2008
The National Training Awards are designed to celebrate organisations and individuals that demonstrate outstanding business and personal success through investment in training. By recognising best practice, the awards aim to raise awareness and inspire others to invest in learning and development. Recognised as the most prestigious training awards in the UK, The National Training Awards are now in their 21st year; it's the first year that we have been nominated and we have got through to the grand final in May... wish us luck!

Well done to Andrea at Arcana (Shenley Brook End) for winning the first in-salon photoshoot competition at the end of 2007; she won a fabulous pair of designer curved hairdressing scissors worth over £200! We will be entering her picture (and some of the others) for various photographic competitiions through 2008.
